Is This What They’re Up To?
There is a public website called giglio-bradylist.com. It all sounds very official, but it is simply a privately run website where anybody can file a “citizen complaint” against a law enforcement official.
The website is NOT, we repeat NOT an official “Brady List”.
As a reminder, a Brady list is a list compiled usually by a prosecutor’s office or a police department containing the names and details of law enforcement officers who have had sustained incidents of untruthfulness, criminal convictions, candor issues, or some other type of issue placing their credibility into question
So how does giglio-bradylist.com fit into our story?
Well, if you run a search for “Kent Vander Kamp” on the site, up will pop a record featuring a photograph of Vander Kamp.
The photograph appears to be a screenshot of a photo of Vander Kamp most recently appearing in a Bend Bulletin article titled “Deschutes County Sheriff candidate is subject of complaints filed with state agencies” (linked below).
We do find it interesting that this particular photograph of Vander Kamp was used by whoever created the records on giglio-bradylist.com. Perhaps it’s just coincidence.
As a quick recap, the Bulletin article is about a Ms. Mandi Puckett, who left CLEAR Alliance as its executive director in May 2023. Specifically it is about her allegations against CLEAR Alliance President Kent Vander Kamp and other board members. Ms. Puckett has filed complaints with multiple agencies in Oregon to include The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries and Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).
We understand that to date that none of her allegations have been founded or sustained by any agency.
Clicking on Vander Kamp’s giglio-bradylist.com record navigates the user to a web page on which there are four entries. (We have provided a link to this web page below)
Each entry on the page refers to a “citizen complaint”. Per giglio-bradylist.com, a citizen complaint is nothing more than an anonymous complaint filed with the site by members of the general public.
After looking into each entry on the page we found they referred to complaints and internal investigations against Kent Vander Kamp which were clearly obtained from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
Below we have listed each complaint along with the giglio-bradylist.com reference code:
- 1718574247–857282970: Filed 2019. Sustained.
- 1718574459–506535172: Filed 2018. Unfounded
- 1718574582–91887782: Filed 2013. Unfounded
- 1718574814–607560637: Filed 2012. Unfounded
We suspected Vander Kamp’s record and the entries in it were created recently. So we reached out to giglio-bradylist.com for clarification.
What we learned shocked us. While we believed the records were newly created, we had now idea how recently they had been created
It turns out all the information about Kent Vander Kamp was uploaded and created this past Sunday, June 16.
Each record was created within just a few minutes of each other as follows:
- 1718574247–857282970 created Sun Jun 16 2024 14:44:07
- 1718574459–506535172 created Sun Jun 16 2024 14:47:39
- 1718574582–91887782 created Sun Jun 16 2024 14:49:42
- 1718574814–607560637 created Sun Jun 16 2024 14:53:34
We won’t go into each of the complaints listed above; however, readers are free to examine them on the giglio-bradylist.com site, and we have provided a link to Vander Kamp’s record on the website below.
That said, we in particular find the 2019 complaint to be extremely interesting. This complaint was filed and resolved using the “DCSO Complaint Log”.
This is very similar to the form used in the 2013 complaint.
When comparing the 2013 & 2019 forms, a number of things immediately jumped out at us.
- The 2019 log doesn’t contain the date the complainant (Vander Kamp) was notified of the results of the investigation
- The 2019 log doesn’t include the name and the signature of Vander Kamp’s direct supervisor. It only has Paul Garrison’s name and signature.
- There is a random date “11/28/18”, printed in a small type font above the space for the Supervisor’s signature in the disposition section of the form. It’s almost as if someone was rushing to fill out the form in a PDF editor and forgot they had stuck the date down there and so neglected to delete it.
Based on the above information, we are concerned about the validity of the 2019 complaint and find its contents to be highly suspect.
WHAT IS GOING ON?
What exactly is going on here?
We have a theory, and while it is just a theory, we are currently actively and rigorously investigating it and have some extremely promising leads.
We suspect Sheriff Shane Nelson contacted or was contacted by an individual who had a grievance against Sergeant Kent Vander Kamp and was looking to exact a little revenge against him.
We will call this person Mindy Pickles*.
Not one to let such a golden opportunity pass by, Nelson jumped on it and started to use Pickles to help him undermine Vander Kamp’s election bid.
Recall Nelson has publicly endorsed Captain William Bailey and to all intents appears desperate to have him be elected next Sheriff.
In fact, we understand that Nelson refers to Vander Kamp around the Sheriff’s Office as “The Opponent.”
We think Nelson and Pickles hatched a plan that involved Pickle’s convincing a friend, who we will call Carmen Songbird*, to file public records requests with the Sheriff’s Office for all internal investigations and complaints made against Kent Vander Kamp.
Well wouldn’t you know it, but the Sheriff’s Office was completely forthcoming and produced all of the documents as requested by Songbird.
How refreshing and what a nice surprise. Normally the Sheriff’s Office is known for being, to put it mildly, reluctant in fulfilling these kinds of public records requests often hiding behind various legal statutes.
In fact, we have learned that non-other than Captain Paul Garrison was running around busily gathering all the documents to fulfill Songbirds public records request.
We believe that along the way, the fact that Vander Kamp had worked as a non-paid volunteer at the La Mesa PD nearly 30 years ago came to light, or perhaps it was known all along.
Ms. Pickles, in her desire for retribution against Vander Kamp, may have convinced Nelson that Vander Kamp was on a Brady List. Who’s to tell.
We think it was Pickles, or someone in her circle, who provided the “tip” to Shane Nelson that Kent Vander Kamp was on a “Brady List” in California.
Naturally, Shane Nelson decided to investigate this allegation brought before him by an “anonymous citizen”.
You would think that as a standing Sheriff, Nelson would have done a little further research on his own. After all he does run a Sheriff’s Office and has plenty of resources to do so. But that would have raised all kinds of questions
So instead, Nelson pulled out all the stops and hired The Briggs Law Corporation in California to help file his kitchen sink public records request with the City of La Mesa for information on Kent Vander Kamp.
It is important to note that Nelson’s request was never written to specifically find if Vander Kamp was on a Brady List. Instead it was written to be as generic and broad as possible.
It was clearly a request designed to dig up dirt on Kent Vander Kamp.
When the city of La Mesa responded with all the information they had on Vander Kamp and when it didn’t include the damning information Nelson was searching for, Nelson decided to file his lawsuit against La Mesa using Deschutes County taxpayer money.
Perhaps Nelson was convinced by Pickles that Vander Kamp really was on a Brady List in California, or perhaps he was just kicking up dust by hanging an open ended allegation over the Vander Kamp campaign as we have previously alluded to.
We think that with Nelson’s “Brady List” narrative rapidly falling apart and becoming publicly ridiculed for its absurdly, Pickles and/or her partner in crime Songbird — perhaps in collaboration with Nelson — marched over to giglio-bradylist.com this past weekend and began hurriedly creating the entries for Vander Kamp on the website.
What is the reason for all this frantic activity on giglio-bradylist.com? We are not sure.
Perhaps it is to give Nelson cover from the mess he has put himself in with the lawsuit he filed against La Mesa, CA.
Nelson might try to pass off the excuse that the citizen who provided him with the tip that Vander Kamp was on a Brady List was confused and thought giglio-bradylist.com was an official Brady List.
Of course now the timeline for the creation of Vander Kamp’s records on that particular site have been exposed… Well that dog won’t hunt.
Regardless, this is an absolutely sorry state of affairs in which we find ourselves today, and we have one simple word to describe it:
Pathetic

Mindy Pickles and Carmen Songbird are completely fictional characters. Any resemblance between them and anyone living or dead is entirely coincidental.
